Grinding and Deburring

Normally, only the side facing the laser exit is deburred. This means that even in the customer portal, where you can order laser-cut parts online, you cannot select the option “deburr both sides”. Please enquire about all the options available and specify if you wish to have both sides deburred.

Due to the nature of the technology, the machines remove the burr from the cut edges but also grind the entire sheet metal surface.

Grinding is a process in which abrasive tools, such as grinding wheels or belts, are used to remove material from the surface of a workpiece. The aim is to smooth rough surfaces, remove unwanted irregularities or bring the workpieces to the desired size.

Deburring, on the other hand, is a manual or automated process in which sharp edges, burrs or protrusions are removed from workpieces. This is particularly important for ensuring the safety of the end products and preventing injuries.

The grinding result is purely technical in nature; it is not intended to be aesthetically pleasing. We are unable to take any specific requirements regarding the appearance of the ground surface into account.
